California
California notaries can use an embossing seal, or a rubber stamp. A rubber stamp is preferred. The most common notary stamps for California are the rectangle notary stamp such as the N14 or N42 Xstampers. Notary stamps must be purchased from an authorized manufacturer. We are an authorized manufacturer.
To order a California notary stamp, send in your ORIGINAL "Certificate of Authorization" issued by the Office of the Secretary of State (no faxes or photocopies accepted). This certificate authorizes a maximum number of stamps for that notary. If you want to order more than one stamp, the "Certificate" must authorize as such. The stamp manufacturer will affix a copy of the stamp to the "Certificate of Authorization" and send the original to the Secretary of State. A copy will be retained by the stamp manufacturer, and one will be sent with your stamp.
You can place your order online, and then we will contact you for the certificate, or you can mail in your order along with the certificate.

Xstamper Pre-Inked Large Pocket Stamp 5/8" x 2-7/16" California Notary Stamp. The N42 is similar to the N14, but it is a pocket version that folds up on itself. This stamp is great for mobile notaries.
